Weekend Status

Alright peeps. I'm heading to Morgantown in the morning for a weekend of Penguins hockey and Steelers football. I won't be posting anything until I get back.

Remember, every night is a great night to be a Mountaineer, wherever you may be. Especially now.

Against All Odds - Fiesta Bowl 2008 - WVU Football (vs. OU)

From Z Productions. Brilliant work. Here's the YouTube link to the video. You can check out the entire ZProductions page from there. Take the time, it's worth it.

Dammit was Tuesday night incredible. Not incredible that we won, but incredible to feel that good about WVU football again. And Owen, thank you for everything.

Sorry For The Laziness and Lack Of Updates

I am still basking in the glory of our Fiesta Bowl asswhipping of Oklahoma. Frankly, I think everyone still should be. Take a moment to step back, lay off Bill Stewart and the AD, and just enjoy it people. We have won 2 BCS games in 3 years against the stiffest of competition. That is something to be proud of. And remember, Stewart doesn't have to build us a program, he just has to not screw it up. I have all the faith in the world that he, and we, will be just fine. So chill out, sip some whiskey, and love life. We are on top of it all right now, and we've worked very hard to get there. Let's take it in.

Bill Stewart Named Head Coach?

Well, I'm fine with this. If nothing else, the man earned a shot. If he's good enough for Mike Tomlin, Owen Schmitt, Pat White, the entire WVU team, and all of our assistants, he's damn good enough for me to at least give the benefit of the doubt.
If you don't like it, give up your tickets to someone who wants them and jump off a fucking bridge. And you, Ken Kendrick, shut the fuck up. We're tired of your RR loving ass.

A Celebratory Country Roads

Enjoy this one people. This time it's extra sweet. This video is in no way related to WVU football, but it's got a lovely slideshow.

Our Hero

Dear Bill Stewart,

I just want to say thank you. Thank you for so many things. Thank you for being a true Mountaineer. Thank you for being someone I am proud to call a West Virginian. Thank you for handling this with such dignity, class, and professionalism. Thank you for preparing this team and opening up the playbook. Thank you for showing the nation that WVU does not live and die by Rich Rodriguez. Thank you for everything you've done. You will be a West Virginia legend for all of eternity. Most of all, thank you for just being one of US.

Fiesta Bowl

Well, I don't have any thorough game preview to give you, because there's no need. We all know what we're trying to overcome, both physically and mentally. The team, the university, the fans, and the state are up against it. We're being trashed on the radio and tv all day long on every station. We're whiners, we shouldn't be upset because we're just an inferior program, we don't have any fanbase, we're not talented enough....it goes on and on. Oklahoma is going to crush us. They are a superior program with superior talent, and there's no way we can hang in there. Rich Rodruiguez is gone, and so is our period of success. It's going to be a blowout tonight, and WVU football is going to be forever mediocre.
To the people who truly believe that, I have only one thing to say. Fuck you. We have been great before, will be great again, and are great right now. Whatever happens tonight, WVU will remain on top. We've all fought too long and hard to give up our position now. We have a great team, great fans, and a wonderful state. So let's do this thing tonight. Let's shock everyone again. We're the underdog, and that's what we do best. It's West Virginia versus the world tonight, just like all those other times that nobody thought we could do it. WVU - 41 OU - 35
